The system is not letting me in, but I do not get an error message. Why?

If you are having problems logging in, it may be because your web browser is not accepting session cookies. To identify logged-in users, Doxpop uses session cookies. See Understanding cookies to learn more about them. This is how to set your browser to accept session cookies:

If you are running Internet Explorer V7 or V8:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  3. Click on the "Security" tab.
  4. Make sure the slider is set to "Medium-High"
  5. Click on the "Privacy" tab
  6. Make sure the slider is set to "Medium"
  7. Click [OK]

If you are running Windows XP or Internet Explorer V6 (IE6) on an older version of windows:

  1. Start IE6.
  2. Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
  3. Click on the "Privacy" tab.
  4. Now you need to make a choice - IE6 gives you the option to allow session from all web sites, or just from specific sites. (You may want to read the FAQ on what session cookies are before making this choice.)
  5. If you decide that you want to allow session cookies from all sites:
  6. Move the slider to the "Medium" security level.
  7. Click on [OK]
  8. If you decide that you only want to allow session cookies from Doxpop:
  9. Click on [Edit] in the "Web Sites" section.
  10. In the "Address of Web Site" box, enter: www.doxpop.com
  11. Click on [Allow].
  12. Click on [OK] and then [OK] again to close the dialogue boxes.
